Vehicle Prep - Vehicle Service:
Once the vehicle was purchased, the first order of business was to conduct a comprehensive mechanical service. This is perhaps the most important aspect of preparing any vehicle for a long, demanding overland expedition as it's necessary to insure that all mechanical components are in perfect working order prior to hitting the road. Here is a summary of the services performed on our vehicle:

Service Items:
Replaced water pump
Replaced timing belt
Replaced radiator hoses (top and bottom)
Replaced all filters (oil, air, and fuel filters)
Replaced oils in front/rear axles, transfer box, gearbox, and engine
Replaced anti-freeze/water in cooling system
Replaced front and rear discs and pads
Replaced alternator
Replaced existing batteries with two Optima Red Tops drycell batteries
Replaced front window motors
Removed brake booster
Installed A/C
